"The Four Star" May/June Edition No. 2 - 10
Commanders Message Hello Everyone I pray your doing fine and I'd like to thank everyone who came out and voted in our annual elections. As the new commander, like it has been in the past, I am only as good as our membership. I can not do it alone. I need the help of all our members, the Auxiliary, the S.A.L., our employees, officers and families and friends. There's no "I" in team. We have one of the best Volunteerism records in the county, if not in the state and it's because of the team effort that we have at our Post. Post 217 war the host of many successful functions this past month. The "Marine Corps Mess" was a great event as was our Unit's "Coach Bingo". I hope you guys do it again soon. As usual the Special Olympics Bowling Banquet was another great affair. Our Color Guard once again did the "Massing of the Colors" at Fort Meade again for the fourth year in a row, and we were the only American Legion Post there. I was informed that our annual picnic at Walter Reed Hospital was a very nice affair, as usual, in keeping with our past record of our work with the Vets. We have a lot of things coming up, and I'm proud to call Post 217 "my home". For all the new members and also transfers into our Post, thanks for joining or happy family, and a hearty "Welcome" to you all. Thanks to everyone for their support. For God and Country Elando H. Message from the 4 - Star Editor The due date for the September - October issue of the 4 - Star is Tuesday August 10th. Very few articles were submitted to me for this issue, as you can see.
